Candy Bar Fudge Recipe This recipe is bound to be a hit because it’s a cross between fudge and a candy bar.

Using your microwave is an easy, foolproof method of preparation.


½ cup butter or margarine

1/3 cup baking cocoa

¼ cup packed brown sugar

¼ cup milk

3-1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

30 caramels

1 tablespoon water

2 cups salted peanuts

½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

½ cup milk chocolate chips


Line an 8-in. square pan foil and butter the foil; set aside.

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, cocoa, brown sugar and milk.

Microwave on high until mixture boils, about 3 minutes.

Stir in confectioners’ sugar and vanilla.

Pour into prepared pan.

In another microwave-safe bowl, heat caramels and water on high for 2 minutes or until melted.

Stir in peanuts; spread over chocolate layer.

Microwave chocolate chips on high for 1 minute or until melted; spread over caramel layer.

Chill until firm.

Remove from pan and cut into 1-in. squares.

Recipe tested with a 700 watts microwave.

Serving Size about 64 pieces.

36 large marshmallows

1-1/2 cups (9 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

½ cup chunky peanut butter

2 tablespoons butter (no substitutes)


Line a 9-in. square pan with foil and butter the foil. Arrange marshmallows in pan.

In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter.

Pour and spread over the marshmallows.

Chill completely.

Cut between marshmallows.

Recipe tested in 700 watts microwave.

Serving Sizes about 3 dozen.

1 package (10 ounces) miniature pretzels

2 package (12 ounces each) vanilla baking chips

3 tablespoons vegetable oil.


In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients; set aside.

In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chips and oil on medium-high for 2 minutes, stirring once.

Microwave on high for 10 seconds; stir until smooth.

Pour over cereal mixture and mix well.

Spread onto three waxed paper-lined baking sheets.

Cool; break apart.

Store in an airtight container.

Recipe tested in 700-watt microwave.

Serving Sizes about 5 quarts.
