Anyone watching their fat intake will be surprised that they can indulge in this spread with little guilt.

Any leftovers can be spread on toasted bagels for a light lunch or snack.


1 package (8 ounces) fat-free cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon skim milk

3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

1 tablespoon finely chopped green onion

1 garlic clove, minced

½ teaspoon dried thyme

1/8 teaspoon pepper

Assorted crackers


In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and milk until smooth.

Add Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, thyme and pepper; mix until well blended.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Serve with crackers.

Here’s a cheese spread that will please a hungry crowd with its bold taste.

Prepare this spread early in the day, spoon it into the wax shell and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.


1 gouda cheese round in red wax covering (7 ounces), room temperature

1 package (2-1/2 ounces) smoked sliced beef, finely chopped

¼ cup sour cream

2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish

2 teaspoon prepared horseradish

Apple slices and/or assorted crackers


Carefully slice through wax and cheese to within 1 in. of the bottom, forming eight pie-shaped wedges.

Carefully fold wax back to expose cheese; remove cheese.

In a mixing bowl, beat the cheese until creamy.

Add the beef, sour cream, relish and horseradish; mix well.

Spoon into wax shell.


Serve with apples and/or crackers.

Serving Size 1-1/2 cups.

If you prefer, try a Swiss cheese spread instead of the cheddar.

And, if you enjoy garlic, substitute a small clove of minced garlic for the garlic powder.


1 carton (16 ounces) cheddar cheese spread, softened

2 packages 9one 8 ounces, one 3 ounces) cream cheese, softened

3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon garlic powder


Snipped fresh parsley

Assorted crackers


In a medium bowl, combine cheese spread, cream cheese, butter, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.

Blend thoroughly.

Chill for at least 3 hours or overnight. Sprinkle with paprika and parsley.

Serve with crackers.

Serving Sizes 3-1/2 cups
