Country Cooking is where I get the following recipes from,these are some great appetizers dips along with most party favorite Guacamole.

Guacamole Recipe

The lemon or lime juice will keep your dip looking fresh and will prevent discoloration until serving.

Or, before chilling, place the seed you removed from the avocado on top of the dip.

Remove the seed before serving.

Ingredients;

1 medium ripe avocado, halved, seed and peeled

4 ½ teaspoons lemon lime juice

1 small tomato, seeded and finely chopped

¼ cup finely chopped onion

1 tablespoon finely chopped green chilies

1 garlic clove, minced

¼ teaspoon salt, optional Tortilla Chips

Directions;

In a bowl, mash avocado with lemon juice.

Stir in tomato, onion, chilies, garlic and salt if desired.

Serving about 1 ½ cups.



Hot Crab Dip

Hot Crab Dip

This dip is perfectly elegant for special occasions.

Eight ounces imitation crab can be substituted for the canned crab.

Ingredients;

2 cans (6 ounces each) crab-meat, drained and cartilage removed

2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened

½ small onion, finely chopped

1 tablespoon prepared horseradish

2 dashes Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

1/3 cup slivered almonds

Assorted crackers

Directions;

In a mixing bowl, combine the first seven ingredients.

Spread in a 1-qt. baking dish.

Sprinkle with almonds.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until mixture bubbles.

Serve with crackers

About 6-8 serving size.

Hot Chili Cheese Dip Chili Cheese Dip

If you have a fondue pot, this is a perfect time to use it.

Why not keep the ingredients for this easy dip on the pantry shelf for last-minute snacking?

Ingredients;

1 pound process American cheese, cubed

1 can (15 ounces) chili con carne without beans

1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chilies

Tortilla chips

Directions;

Combine cheese, chili and chilies in a saucepan or fondue pot.

Heat over medium-low, stirring frequently, until the cheese melts.

Serve warm with tortilla chips.

Serving sizes about 12 servings.
