Turkey Drumstick Dinner Turkey Drumstick Dinner

Kids will love being served their own drumstick.

You’ll love that this easy whole meal requires just one pot.

Ingredients;

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon butter or margarine

4 turkey drumsticks (about 3 pounds)

1 medium onion, sliced

1 can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes

3 chicken bouillon cubes

1 teaspoon garlic salt

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon dried basil

4 large potatoes peeled, cooked and quartered

2 medium zucchini, cut into ¾ - inch slices

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Minced fresh parsley

Directions;

In a large skillet, heat oil and butter; brown drumsticks.

Transfer to a 3-qt. Dutch oven.

Top with onion.

In the same skillet, heat tomatoes, bouillon and seasonings until bouillon is dissolved.

Pour over the turkey and onion.

Cover and bake at 350◦ for 2 hours basting once or twice.

Add potatoes and zucchini.

Cover and bake 20 minutes longer. Transfer turkey and vegetables to a serving dish and keep warm.

Combine the cornstarch and water until smooth;

Stir into tomato mixture. Bake, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Pour over turkey and vegetables.

Sprinkle with parsley.

Serving Size around 4.


teriyaki turkey

Teriyaki Turkey

Turkey pieces are budget-savers and make hearty meals when there

isn’t time to roast a whole turkey.

½ cup soy sauce

½ cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons honey

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground mustard

1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 garlic cloves, minced

6 to 7 pounds turkey pieces

¼ cup all-purpose flour, optional

Salt and pepper, optional

Directions;

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oil, honey, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, mustard, lemon juice and garlic.

Place turkey pieces in a large resealable plastic bag; add

marinade.

Seal bag; refrigerate overnight, turning bag occasionally.

Arrange turkey in a single layer in a large shallow roasting pan.

Pour marinade over turkey. Bake, uncovered, at 325◦ for 1-1/2 to

2 hours or until tender.

Baste occasionally if desired. Remove turkey to serving platter

and keep warm.

Make gravy from pan drippings.


Turkey Minute Steaks

Here’s a deliciously different way to prepare turkey.

Serve these seasoned steaks on bread or over a bed of buttered noodles.

¾ cup seasoned dry bread crumbs

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

1 ½ pounds uncooked sliced turkey breast

1 egg, beaten

3 tablespoons butter or margarine

Directions;

In a shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese,

basil, salt and pepper; mix well.

Dip turkey in egg, then in crumbs, coating all sides.

Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook turkey for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown

and juices run clear.

Serving Size around 6-8.
